OReGO is open for enrollment!

OReGO is open for enrollment!

July 1, 2015 | OReGO Communications

Hurry — there are only 5,000 spots available statewide

At 12:01 a.m. today, OReGO officially opened to volunteer enrollment. It’s the nation’s first pay-by-the-mile road usage charge program.

Head over to myOReGO.org now and sign up with the account manager of your choice. Spaces are limited to 5,000 participants so don’t delay!

To sign up as an OReGO pioneer, make sure to have your ride’s VIN and license plate information handy for easier enrollment. (Find your VIN on your registration or insurance card.) You’ll also need your odometer reading and a credit card if you are signing up with Azuga.

Once approved, your account manager will mail a mileage reporting device to you. Plug it into your car’s OBD-II port under the driver’s side dashboard, and you’re good to go with OReGO!

Are you ready to help keep our roads and bridges safe and well-maintained for all Oregonians? Join our OReGO pioneers and enroll your vehicle today!

Your vehicle may not have a standard OBD II port, which is required to participate. (The ports became standard in vehicles after about 1996.) But you can still apply and see if your vehicle is approved. Click “Sign Me Up!” on the MyOReGO.org home page.

  1. I totally agree with the first two posts. Let me get this straight we currently pay a 30 cents tax per gallon and with the new OReGO we will all pay 1.5 cents for mile. If you do the calculation most people will be be paying more in tax because most people drive cars that get higher than 20mph. You should just come out and say this is a tax increase instead of sugar coating it in your radio advertisements as the newest best thing. I think if most people knew how much more in gas tax they will be paying under this new system they would be against it. Also I am not sure how this will even add a significant amount of money to ODOT’s revenue since 40% of the tax that will be collected will go back to the private company that is implementing this program. So you will have most of the drivers paying a private company to get rich of their hard earned money and it is probably a out of state company so the dollars won’t even stay here. That alone should unnerve most Oregonians. I think that our legislators need to follow the money on this one and see who is getting rich off working Oregonians. I think a better idea might be to just raise the gas tax at the pump, cut out the 40% going to ODOT’s buddy and we would all pay less in tax Vs OReGO.

  2. I’ve not seen anything that discusses what is the fallback for vehicles that don’t have OBD-II ports – which I have one. Am I right to guess that after implementation of this, we all still pay taxes at the pump, but vehicles that have trackers installed will be rebated when state taxes are assessed?
